The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth’s getting daily challenges with the Afterbirth DLC

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth daily challenges

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Edmund McMillen’s brilliant roguelike remake, could become even more devilishly addictive when the Afterbirth DLC launches. Taking a page out of Spelunky’s book, Afterbirth will introduce daily challenges.

Spelunky’s daily challenges were a simple idea, but wormed their way into the lives of the compulsive, spawning a competitive obsession amongst countless players. Players could attempt to get through a series of levels, the same levels for every player, and then they could compare their scores with the rest of the internet. It’s simple. Like crack.

The Binding of Isaac’s daily challenges will follow the same formula, but there’s one question hanging over this feature: how will the scoring system work? McMillen’s not saying, yet, but promises to spill the beans in a future blog post.

I’ve got Rebirth on my Vita, PS4 and PC, so I look forward to being demolished by everyone I know on three different systems. Exciting times!
