Ambitious Skyrim total conversion mod, Enderal, gets release date alongside new trailer

Enderal

Enderal, an ambitious Skyrim total conversion mod that’s been five years in the making, finally has a release date.

Looking for more tweaks to your RPGing? Here’s our picks of the best Skyrim mods.

Enderal uses the Skyrim assets to create a world of its own, complete with its own lore and story. Its world is apparently close to Skyrim’s in size and will be fully explorable, featuring unique quests and NPCs.

The mod does away with Skyrim’s leveling system – which allowed you to get stronger in different areas by repeating actions – instead opting for the experience points of a traditional RPG, with “overhauled skill systems”.

Enderal also promises a “dark, psychological storyline with believable characters”, so it sounds like it’ll be a very different experience from Skyrim.

Here’s the trailer:

The German version of Enderal is to be released July 1-3, 2016, while the English version is due “some weeks later”.
