It looks like some CD Projekt RED folks have split off to make their own studio. Fool’s Theory have just made themselves known and have Jakub Rokosz at the helm, a former Senior Quest Designer at the Witcher studio. They haven’t said precisely what they’re working on yet, but have teased a few hints along with this countdown which points to Monday, August 17th for the announcement.

In a statement issued by Rokosz, whose official title is founder and head of the development team, he had this to say:

“We started working on a game that will be a daring combination of some isometric genres. I don’t want to reveal too much details [sic] at this point other than we’re developing the game on Unreal Engine 4. It was a natural choice for us, taking into consideration how experienced the team is in working with this tool. I can assure you that the game will break some proven schemes and we’ll be revealing more information about it very soon.”

There’s some serious pedigree on display with folks who worked on both Witcher 2 and 3 and space RTS Ancient Space, among other games, on board. IMGN.PRO seem to be financing the project and are a indie developer themselves, along with running a successful publishing operation. They’ve helped games like Euro Truck Simulator and its sequel make it to market and developed Kholat, the Sean Bean-narrated horror game. According to Lukasz Kubiak, co-owner of IMGN.PRO, they have “merged their team” with Fool’s Theory to help develop the new game.

More, we assume, on the 17th.
