Visceral’s Star Wars game is “along the same lines” as 1313

Star Wars 1313

When Star Wars 1313 was revealed at E3 2012, the whole world awaited a spectacular-looking action romp through the gritty underbelly of the Star Wars universe. Tears were shed when Disney canned the project with the shutdown of LucasArts, but a new hope was found in Visceral’s upcoming, untitled Star Wars game, which will be penned by ex-Uncharted writer Amy Hennig.

For those hoping that the new Star Wars game would be akin to what we saw of 1313, voice actor Nolan North has some good news: “it’s along the same lines”.

Talking at a panel at Metrocon, the famed voice actor – who previously worked alongside Hennig when voicing Uncharted’s Nathan Drake – said that the new EA and Visceral Star Wars game is drawing influence from Uncharted.

“If you’re a big fan of Amy Hennig and her style of story, she’s gone to EA and is going to reboot a brand new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted,” he said. “I happen to know a lot about it and it’s going to be awesome.”

North was quizzed if the project was indeed a resurrection of 1313, and he said that “it’s different” but “along the same lines”.

Whilst we really know very little about Visceral’s Star Wars project, with the talent involved and this promise of similarities to 1313, it’s not hard to feel very excited about it. Is this the best game in development we know nothing about?
