Warner reveal third Arkham game is due out this year; Rocksteady not developing

Comment

Well here's an announcement that's jumped from the shadows: the third Batman: Arkham something game is due to come out this year. We've no details as of this moment as the announcement wasn't so much a game reveal as an off-hand comment in an investor meeting.

More below.

During Time Warner's investor call last week, a meeting which sees a company's heads of department speak of the financial goings-ons to their stockholders, CFO and chief administrative officer John K. Martin said, “[we] have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise."

We suspected such a game was in development after Warner registered a series of Arkham-related domains earlier this year but that it was so close to release is a bit of a surprise to say the least.

VG247 have managed to confirm that Rocksteady, the developer of the past two Arkham titles, is definitely not developing this third title. Begging the question, who is making it?

We're reaching out to our sources to try and find out more.

You can read the full transcript of the call over at Yahoo! Finance.
