Watch Dogs PC system specs demand hefty processors

Watch Dogs Ubisoft

Watch Dogs is now out; here’s our Watch Dogs review.

For a brief moment Watch Dogs was available to pre-order from Steam. The page has been pulled, but whilst it was available the minimum and recommended specs for the game were plain for all to see.

Despite the upset over the apparent visual downgrade since the game’s original E3 reveal in 2012, to get the most out of Watch Dogs you’ll still be needing a relatively beefy PC.

Minimum specs are surprisingly lenient, offering support for the aging Core 2 Quad CPUs and older video cards. Of course, these rigs are likely to only pump out visuals and performance at the very bottom of the ‘acceptable’ spectrum.

Minimum Specifications

OS: Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1) or Windows 8 (Please note that we only support 64 bit OSs.)

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0Ghz

Memory: 6 GB RAM

Graphics: DirectX 11 graphics card with 1 GB Video RAM – Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770

DirectX: Version 11

Hard Drive: 25 GB available space

Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible Sound Card with Latest Drivers

Additional Notes: Broadband connection and service required for multiplayer mode. Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: nVidia GeForce GTX460 or better, GT500, GT600, GT700 series; AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, HD6000, HD7000, R7 and R9 series Intel Iris Pro HD 5200

At the recommended levels, you’ll be needing Intel’s big-boy processor the i7, and a video card with access to 2GB RAM.

Additional Notes: Broadband connection and service required for multiplayer mode. Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: nVidia GeForce GTX460 or better, GT500, GT600, GT700 series; AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, HD6000, HD7000, R7 and R9 series Intel Iris Pro HD 5200

Unfortunately a rather shiny technical demo of Watch Dogs’ engine performance has been wiped from the internet by angry Ubisoft law people, but you can still investigate some of its prettiness in its latest trailer.

Thanks, VG247.
