Winter is coming into station: Sean Bean heralds Train Simulator 2014 release tomorrow

One of those big, freightening freight trains.

It’s time to start taking chains of metal screaming at 100mph through the English countryside seriously again. Sean Bean invites you to a celebration of the humble railway, and its fans. Leave your anorak at home: you won’t be needing it.

You’ll find Sean conducting the trailer below in the manner of Thomas the Tank’s controller – though with less fat and more sinew:

Jon Rissik is VP Brand & Acquisition at Railsimulator.com. This is what he said:

“We’re really proud of the product that we’re launching this year. We’ve added a new and intuitive interface and an enhanced career mode, which we hope will make the game much more accessible to a wider audience and encourage more people to join our rapidly growing community.

“Simulation products are enjoying a resurgence at the moment, and we’re confident that anyone playing Train Simulator 2014 will enjoy a high quality and highly authentic experience,” he added.

That matches up with the game our Steve found when he took the London to Chatham express to see Railsimulator.com the other week. Presentable, accessible, and comprehensive.

You might say Train Simulator 2014 will be picking up Steam tomorrow, but that would be inaccurate – Steam are the platformer holders, and therefore doing the picking up. Jokes must never stand on the tracks of the truth, don’t you agree?
