World of Warcraft 5.2 patch raid schedule released

World of Warcraft’s 5.2 patch, The Thunder King, arrives in-game tomorrow after a short delay – and with it a heaving, snaking raid called Throne of Thunder. As with Mist of Pandaria’s new raids, however, you won’t be able to storm in there right away and tromp the blood on your boots into the carpet. Rather, new Raid Finder wings will be unlocked slowly over the next month or so in gradually escalating difficulty. Find out precisely when below.

March 6 – Normal Throne of Thunder
March 13 – Heroic Throne of Thunder and LFR Wing 1 “Last Stand of the Zandalari”
March 20 – LFR Wing 2 “Forgotten Depths”
April 3 – LFR Wing 3 “Halls of Flesh-Shaping”
April 17 – LFR Wing 4 “Pinnacle of Storms”

The rewards will be worth the wait. In Throne of Thunder, Normal and Heroic raid bosses have a chance to drop an item with a new Thunderforged designation. Thunderforged items are six item levels higher than their standard counterparts.

Before you can even think about marking a calendar with five conspicuous red crosses, however, you and everybody in your crew will need an average item level of 480 or higher to access the new wings.

Meanwhile, Blizzard are still making grumbly noises about the possibility of delaying the patch further if necessary. We’ll keep you informed on that front.

So: are you ready for this? Like, really ready?
