Amiga Games back catalogue bought for imminent digital release

Amiga

Writers’ Group Film Corp has bought Amiga Games’ back catalogue of 300 games for the princely sum of $500,000. The group plan on publishing the games as a digital release in the near future. Meaning it may not be long till we see new releases of Alien Breed, Lemmings, and Syndicate.

Marketwire report that the Writers’ Group Film Corp has bought 100% of Amiga’s shares, meaning they wholly own the gaming company, adopting all their IP contracts. Writers’ Group buy up IPs to old games and re-release them on PC and mobile devices, hence their interest in Amiga, a company with a vast collection of classic games prime for the selling.

In the coming weeks, Writers’ Group plan on making announcements as to their plans for the games.

Cheers, Eurogamer.
