Steam are currently having a sale on Frictional Games horror titles. You can pre-order the upcoming underwater creepathon Soma for 10% off, grab Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs for £2.99 and download the Penumbra Collectors Pack for £1.39.

One thing that’s not on the main sale page, though, is Amnesia: The Dark Descent – probably in the hope that not everyone notices that it’s free.

You only have until Wednesday at 10am PT to grab it, so get it quick.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a psychological first-person survival horror with a twist: if you look at the monsters, they’re more likely to attack. This leaves you skulking around and knowing there is something right over your shoulder, but you’re unable to look.

It’s that old horror thing where what you don’t see is far scarier than what you do. Horror films are always best before they show you the dodgy CGI monster, or reveal the stalker serial killer is actually that dick from the college team. You do look lovely tonight, by the way.
