Dead Space 3 PC will be a console port; no bells, no whistles

Dead Space 3 is to be much the same game on PC as it is on PS3 and Xbox 360. So say games.on.net, who had a change to chinwag with developers Visceral at a recent event.

The PC version will feature “some” graphics options, but it seems that our favourite menu will be missing most of its usual sliders, switches and sirens. There’ll be no DirectX 11 support, no additional high-res textures, and no further graphical “enhancements” beyond what we’ve seen in Dead Space’s console versions.

Higher resolutions make for cleaner limb-chops. That’s just science. But here’s the question: will it matter?

Yesterday we learned that Dead Space 3 will let you turn real money into in-game weapons via its crafting system.

“You can buy resources with real money, but scavenger bots can also give you the currency that you can use on the marketplace,” said Dead Space 3 associate producer Yara Khoury. “So you don’t have to spend [real world] dollars.”

Thanks, CVG.
