Early grumblings on the subject of EA’s Mass Effect Trilogy bundle have heard it declaimed as content-light, a travesty for a series positively heaving with available DLC to burn onto its discs. And while that’s someway true, it’s a far more palatable travesty on PC than on Other Platforms.
For starters, a US release date sees the PC bundle released on November 6th, rather than the less attractive ‘TBA’ the PS3 has been lumbered with.
What’s more, while the Xbox version comes minus any of the series’ purchasable DLC, EA have at least mustered Mass Effect 1’s Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station for the delectation of us PC gamers.
Elsewhere there’s Mass Effect 2’s day-one DLC Cerberus Network – which these days comes with any new copy of the game – and Mass Effect 3’s online pass, as you’d bloody well hope.
What’s missing? Lots. There’s Mass Effect 2’s incredibly strong run in Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord, and Kasumi, as well as recent Mass Effect 3 addition Leviathan.
