Scrolls.com has been updated? Scrolls.com has been updated! Mojang’s nothing-to-do-with-Minecraft online collectible card game has relaunched its website in preparation for phase one of its eventual launch. To celebrate and inform, Mojang’s Jakob Porser has outlined the game’s release plans, including some details on the immininent arrival of the Scrolls closed alpha. Mojang wants you to try it out, if you’re not busy.

The closed alpha version of Scrolls will include multiplayer and singleplayer matches, the deck builder and over 100 scrolls to build with. Once the game moves out of closed alpha, it will enter an open beta similar to Minecraft’s, during which time players can purchase the game at a reduced price and with some yet to be revealed “added benefits”. No specific dates have been given.

“Keep in mind,” advises Jakob, “that the beta will not be feature complete. We will still have a big bag of goodies that we plan to include over time, such as an auction house where you may buy or sell scrolls from each other and additional features in the world such as character customization, items, quests and so on. If you’re wondering why we would release a game that’s obviously not finished, the reason is simple: We want your feedback in good time to help us shape Scrolls to be the next big online Collectible Card Game!”

Enough words, there’s also a new gameplay video:
