Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is coming. Let us let you in on a little secret before then. Needless to say, spoilers from hereon in.

New to Assassin’s Creed? We named Black Flag in our Best PC games of 2013

SPOILERS.

Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers. You have been thoroughly warned. Understood? Good, let’s go.

Right. This is all a bit hard to explain. When our Matt drew this to my attention earlier today he labelled it “neat secrets in new Assassin’s Creed” which, given what it is, seems like a very generous way to describe it.

What it is, then, the neat secret of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, is a hidden mode that transports you a few decades into the future to the time of World War 1 by virtue of a wormhole that’s only accessible after ten to 15 hours into the game. Simple, right?

You’ll then take control of Lydia Frye, the greatneice and granddaughter of Syndicate’s two main heroes: Evie and Jake Frye within the bounds of a mini-sandbox that’s centered around Tower Bridge. With that, there’s a host of missions strewn around the satellite area for you to steer Lydia through, some of which involve shooting down planes with an anti-aircraft gun.

Further to the host of famous folk the main game already includes, Winston Churchill’s now in there too. And he wants you join the Secret Service. Naturally.

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate arrives November 19.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
