Beamdog have finally let slip past their lips the release date for their enhanced edition of Baldur’s Gate II. November 15th 2013 is the fateful day when you can play what is considered one of the very best RPGs of all time in remastered HD.

The Enhanced Edition comes not only with Baldur’s Gate II’s main campaign Shadows of Amn, but also expansion Throne of Bhaal, four new allies with their own quests, and The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay. The Black Pits is an arena challenge game, pitting you against enemies in an increasingly difficult test of your skills in battle.

All elements of the Enhanced Edition are of course remastered for HD resolutions, with the pre-rendered backdrops of the games touched up for the modern day using the original images.

If you’re already desperate to jump back into the Forgotten Realms, you can pre-load the game through the Beamdog client. Just visit the Baldur’s Gate II website to throw down your cash and get that data flowing.
