Battlefield 6 system requirements

The official Battlefield 6 minimum, recommended, ultra, and ultra++ specs are out, with Secure Boot and TPM required.

Battlefield 6 system requirements leak.

The Battlefield 6 system requirements have just been given a whole new level for gamers looking to play at 4K with its ultra++ tier, but you'll need the latest tech to meet this level, including an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, as well as an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU. Thankfully, you only need an RTX 2060 to meet the minimum specs, but you also need to make sure you have several security features enabled on your system to sate the needs of the game's anti-cheat system.

Battlefield 6 is already proving to be one of the biggest games of 2025, but while the basic minimum specs state that you're not going to require one of the very best graphics card options to start playing, you also can't get away with an ancient Nvidia GeForce GTX GPU, and the game rewards you for using the latest GPU tech as well. You'll also need to check our guide on how to enable Secure Boot, to ensure your system ticks all the security boxes, and you can read our guide to the best Battlefield 6 settings to get the game running optimally on your rig, whether you're playing the campaign, multiplayer, or the new Redsec battle royale.

The Battlefield 6 minimum requirements are in line with expectations for a modern 3D game in 2025. You'll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT paired with an Intel Core i5 8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, along with 16GB of RAM. According to the performance targets set out by EA, these specs will net you 30fps at 1080p, as long as you use the low graphics preset.

None of the entries in this specs list raises any cause for concern. Even the fact that the specs start at an RTX 2060 isn't too alarming, as this was a budget GPU even at the time of release, so pretty much any GPU from the last five years will be able to surpass its performance.

Meanwhile, the Battlefield 6 recommended specs require an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card, alongside an Intel Core i7 10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. The RAM requirement sticks at 16GB.

These again aren't particularly intimidating specs for a recommended specs tier for a modern AAA game, but they further highlight how a reasonably modern GPU is essential. Thankfully, though, according to the performance targets, these specs will get you solid performance. At 1440p you should hit 60fps with the high graphics preset, while at 1080p you'll be getting 80fps+ using the low graphics preset.

Here are the Battlefield 6 ultra specs for PC:

Ultra (4K, 60fps or 1440p, 144fps) Ultra++ (4K, 144fps DLSS SR) or 4K, 240fps DLSS SR + MFG)

If you're really looking to crank up the resolution and detail settings in Battlefield 6, this is where we start to see big jumps in the hardware required in your PC. You'll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card, alongside an Intel Core i9 12900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU to hit 4K at 60fps or 1440p at 144fps. The RAM requirement has also been doubled to 32GB.

We generally recommend upgrading to 32GB of RAM anyway, these days, as it's a relatively inexpensive upgrade that has benefits for all PC use, not just gaming. You can check out our best gaming RAM guide for our current recommended options.

Finally, there's that new Ultra++ tier, which opens up the game to be played at 144fps at 4K with the high preset using DLSS upscaling, or even at 240fps with the ultra preset, if you enable Nvidia's latest multi-frame gen tech. This is a bit of a cheat to mention, though, as multi-frame gen uses AI to insert up to three extra frames between each pair rendered by the GPU, so it's not "real" performance.

You'll need some serious horsepower to meet this final tier, though, including at least an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, with no recommended AMD GPU at this level. This further highlights how this ++ tier is a bit of a cheeky inclusion, though, as it relies on both DLSS upscaling and frame generation, which are technologies exclusive to Nvidia GPUs. AMD has its own upscaling and frame generation tech, but these simply aren't mentioned as options for this performance level.

This is the only tier that requires DLSS or FSR, though. All the other Battlefield 6 system requirements are confirmed to be using the native resolution, meaning Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, or Intel XeSS were not used to determine these specs.

As for other hardware, EA recommends either an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K or an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, with the latter being the top recommendation on our guide to buying the best gaming CPU right now.

The Battlefield 6 download size is actually quite small at around 20GB, but the install size is around 90GB, although the specs list the storage space required for the minimum tier at just 55GB, which could be due to a lack of high-resolution textures. If you're looking to play Redsec, the new BF6 battle royale, its download size is 80GB.

Chances are, then, you might want to install the game on the best gaming SSD you can afford, even if it isn't explicitly required. You'll enjoy shorter loading times, as well as a big boost in system responsiveness compared to using an old-school hard drive or an old SSD.
