Battlefield 4 system requirements leaked on Uplay UPDATE: And debunked just as quickly

UPDATE: Probably False Alarm, folks. A Redditor and EA employee named Offspring has written: “I don’t believe the final system requirements have been decided yet, and this looks a lot like placeholder system requirements from BF3 with a couple of tweaks.

“I know everyone’s excited for BF4 news, but I wouldn’t trust an Ubisoft page with system requirements for it just yet.”

Original story follows.

Wuh-oh. A blow-by-blow account of exactly what Battlefield 4 will be doing to your PC’s insides has been leaked (accidentally, if slightly uncomfortably) by EA competitor Ubisoft. The publishers have detailed the game’s minimum and recommended requirements in an update to Uplay’s Finnish Battlefield page.

Any trace of the specs has since been removed from the entry, but ever-alertBattlefield Redditorsmanaged to grab that screen.

Intriguingly enough, the minimum requirements are near-identical to those of Battlefield 3, released nearly two years ago.

Minimum

  • OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) 32-bit
  • Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2. 2.7 GHz)
  • Memory: 2 GB System RAM
  • Hard Drive: 20 GB
  • Video Card: DirectX 10.1 compatible with 512 MB RAM
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Recommended

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • Processor: Quad-core CPU
  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Hard Drive: 20 GB
  • Video Card: DirectX11 compatible with 1024 MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950)
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Do you think you can manage that? Not too cruel an ask for a game that can do this, huh?
