Gamescom has barely begun in earnest, but it's already time to declare the standouts from the show. The Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur - or Digital Game Culture Foundation - has declared the brightest spots of the Gamescom line-up, with 11 genre categories and five platform titles awarded.
Anno 1800 was named for PC games, and there are plenty of titles set to be available on your computer among the winners. Total War: Three Kingdoms was listed for strategy game, and Landwirtschafts-Simulator 19 for simulation game - yep, that's Farming Simulator. The only game to earn multiple nods was Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which took top billing for puzzle/skill game and Xbox One game - and don't worry, it's also on PC.
Read on for the full list of winners, but bear in mind we're not quite done just yet. The awards will be presented on Saturday, and that's when the final Gamescom platform or genre winners will be crowned. Hardware, multiplayer game, and VR game will also be named at that time.
