It's safe to say that Star Wars has some of the highest-quality licensed games out there. From the deep, philosophical wrangling of Knights of the Old Republic 2 to the breathless adrenaline rush of Pod Racing in Episode I: Racer, there's nothing quite like being whisked off to a galaxy far, far away. But which of them are the chosen ones?
With so many top Star Wars games out there, it's easy to feel like you're frozen in carbonite as you peruse decades of adaptations and original beats, unsure of which to play. After consulting the Jedi archives, we've managed to whittle down the huge amount of Star Wars games to bring you the best of the best. Even a half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf Herder can appreciate peak, and there's plenty of it on display here.
Here are the best Star Wars games on PC in 2026:
1. Star Wars Outlaws
Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws puts you in the boots of Kay Vess, a daring rogue who, alongside her adorable axolotl-like companion Nix, is trying to pull off the heist of all heists to buy their freedom. Now in a post-Maul era, the balance between the galaxy's various syndicate factions is in flux, providing plenty of opportunities to make a credit or two.
At launch, Outlaws had its fair share of issues. In his Star Wars Outlaws review, Paul Kelly laments that, while Outlaws "captures the visual feel of the source material," it "misses the mark with nearly everything else. An uninteresting open world and tedious stealth sections bog down what could have been the start of something special."
However, despite the cold reception, Ubisoft made like Palpatine and returned, making sweeping changes after the fact. The studio removed Outlaws' maddening forced stealth sections and tightened up the combat, making for a much more enjoyable experience overall. There's no doubt that you'll find something to love somewhere. Whether it's Nix, the variety of references to Star Wars universe characters, planets, or lore, or the open-world nature of the adventure, Star Wars Outlaws has plenty going for it.

2. Star Wars Bounty Hunter Remaster
Star Wars has had a frustrating history of doing its bounty hunters dirty. Between the comically tragic fates of Jango and Boba Fett, and the canned 1313 and untitled Respawn games, it feels like jet pack pew pew has always been destined for failure. Fortunately, Star Wars Bounty Hunter exists. Set before Attack of the Clones, Bounty Hunter follows Jango as he hunts down a dark Jedi at the behest of Count Dooku. Throughout, you'll uncover why he was chosen to be the genetic template for the clones, how he came into possession of his ship, and even how he met his future partner in crime, Zam Wesell (you know, the one who tried to kill Padme at the start of Episode 2).
We got a dose of nostalgia in 2024 with a Star Wars Bounty Hunter Remaster. The third-person action-adventure game has you zoom around blasting anyone who gets in your way, like Frank Reynolds in Always Sunny. It's simple, it's fun, and it just works. As Sam Comrie writes in his remastered Bounty Hunter review for our super sister site, Pocket Tactics: "Aspyr's port is a reminder that Star Wars has yielded some of the finest sci-fi games in the genre. By bringing its control scheme up to date and adding sparkling layers of sheen, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is an essential part of the franchise's pantheon."
But don't just take Sam's word for it. Bounty Hunter sits proudly with an overall 'Very Positive' score on Steam, further marking it as an excellent choice for those who want a no-frills adventure with everyone's (second) favorite bounty hunter.
3. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
It would have been easy for TT Games to mash previous Lego Star Wars games together and call it a day, but thankfully, the studio has gone that extra mile with The Skywalker Saga. The content covering the sequel trilogy has been paired wonderfully with other sections inspired by previous Lego Star Wars games, making this one of the definitive Star Wars games available.
Writing for Pocket Tactics, Kayleigh Partleton calls the game "the definitive Lego Star Wars experience" in her Skywalker Saga review. "Never before has journeying to a blocky galaxy far, far away been so satisfying," she says. "The Skywalker Saga covers all nine mainline movies, and it captures all of the key points in a charming way - it's the quintessential Lego experience, and mesa recommend you play it."
Sure, everything is Lego, but given the disparate fandoms across the different trilogies, what better way to experience the saga in one go than through the lens of a highly sophisticated interlocking brick system (not a toy)? Not only is this an excellent Star Wars game, but it's also a great co-op game if you're looking for something new to play with your friend or partner; here's how to play Skywalker Saga co-op on two screens to get you started. 4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords
The first Knights of the Old Republic game is a fairly traditional tale despite the twists and turns. Its sequel, with Obsidian taking over from BioWare, is more ambitious. It has all the trappings of a good Star Wars PC game romp - lightsabers, the Force, and its Light and Dark dichotomy - but it's all contained in a much bleaker, more philosophical narrative, making its story stand out among the very best on our list. Plus, it's basically D&D: Star Wars edition, which is every bit as brilliant as it sounds.
After picking your Jedi class, you awaken on a ship called the Harbinger. You soon discover that you've been exiled from the Jedi order, which is certainly an awkward tale to regale at your academy reunion. Despite having been thrown out, this doesn't deter you from doing your bit to fight the Sith scourge.
As much as KOTOR 2 allows you to dabble in the Light and Dark sides of the Force, you can also take the 'Grey Jedi' route and straddle the line between. It's thrilling, too, with lightsaber duels, absorbing new companions to recruit or corrupt, and the chance to make new enemies at every turn, making this action-adventure game quite the space odyssey.
5. Star Wars: Republic Commando
Proof that not everything that came out of the prequel trilogy was subpar, Republic Commando is the Rainbow Six of the Clone Wars. Cast as special ops clone trooper RC-1138, you take on missions accompanied by three other commandos that can be bossed about with various orders and context-sensitive commands. As influenced by Halo as it is Tom Clancy's famous multiplayer game, the tactical elements of Republic Commando didn't stop it from being a brisk run-and-gun. It's Star Wars: Republic Commando's simplicity that we need to see more of.
Frequently considered one of the most underrated Star Wars games, Republic Commando is notable for being completely Jedi-less and trading epic combat for a grittier, ground-level feel. Entertaining touches like modular weapons, a wrist-mounted blade, and a visor wiper that brushes away enemy blood splatter ensure the game has a charm all of its own.
Republic Commando is one of the more challenging entries on our list. Between the heavy enemy density, short objective timers, and micromanaging your squad, efficiency is the key to success. It certainly shows how unforgiving the galaxy can be when you can't simply force push all of your problems away.
6. Star Wars: Empire at War
The core films tend to focus on intimate struggles: Luke and Vader, Anakin and Palpatine, Han and Lando. Yet Star Wars is defined by these personal relationships and how they fit into the backdrop of a much larger conflict. The perfect setting for an RTS game, then. LucasArts has published numerous strategy games set within the Star Wars universe, but Empire at War is easily its best.
Set between Episodes III and IV, Empire at War chronicles the escalating conflict between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. A campaign map containing numerous planets allows you to research technologies and establish planetary defenses, adding a dose of features more commonly seen in grand strategy games.
Skirmishes take place on land using troops and vehicles and in space using cruisers and fighters, culminating in the classic assault on the first Death Star. Considering the vast quantity of third-person action games that make up the bulk of the Star Wars games library, this is a welcome change of pace. Sadly, though, when it comes to a Star Wars: Empire at War sequel, it seems one was pitched to EA quite some time ago, but since then, "nothing has resulted."
7. Star Wars: The Old Republic
Star Wars: The Old Republic has always had a bit of an identity problem. One half tries to be a continuation of the Knights of the Old Republic single-player games, split up into several class stories that let you experience the Star Wars galaxy as a Chiss Imperial Agent or Sith Warrior. The other half is trying to be a top-class MMO, but it's pretty traditional and sometimes struggles with its free-to-play elements.
The class stories are worth embarking on this intergalactic journey: they're ambitious, authentically Star Wars, and epic in scope. Its fifth expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, focuses almost entirely on this part of the game. Knights of the Fallen Empire is, essentially, a single-player game stuck inside an MMO. It's great, evocative even of Knights of the Old Republic II. Even though SWTOR tries hard to wriggle free of its genre, it's a must-play as the closest thing we have to a KOTOR sequel.
The Old Republic hasn't received a new expansion since 2022's Legacy of the Sith, which wasn't the best by any stretch. That being said, BioWare is still whittling away at new content years later, with its recent Galactic Threads storyline acting as a continuation of LotS. So, don't worry about potentially jumping into an end-of-service experience, there are still many more yarns to be spun.
8. Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer
Whatever you think of Episode 1, there's no denying that its pod race was a tremendous spectacle and a great insight into the sporting world of a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer turns this high-octane sequence into a whole game; one of the best racers of its time, might we add.
In Episode 1 Racer, players take on the role of a pod racer and embark on a season of races across numerous planets. Each track shows off each planet's unique mythos, such as the Spice Mine Run on Mon Gazza that winds through its vast spice extraction facility. Think F-Zero, just with John Williams' glorious soundtrack blaring in the background.
You can use your winnings to improve your pod racer or purchase Pit Droids for enhanced repairs. New racers are unlocked through play, with the ultimate prize obviously being Sebulba and his rival-toasting flamethrowers. The pod racers benefit hugely from the licensed sound effects from the films, and while it may be an ugly game by today's standards, this racing game manages to salvage something strong from that treaty-happy first prequel.
9. Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster
It may not be canon anymore, but Kyle Katarn's first adventure is one of the most beloved Doom clones ever made. Long before he picks up a lightsaber, we see him doing covert work for the plucky Rebel Alliance and uncovering a dastardly Imperial plot to unleash a massive army. Katarn's mission? Shoot all the Imperials.
Dark Forces' level design is superb for the time, too; this is a Star Wars PC game that is elaborate and ripe for exploration in a way that modern, linear shooters rarely are. Progression is also novel yet well-implemented. Here, you have a set number of lives. Taking damage or missing a jump knocks one off, respawning you roughly where you died. If you run out of lives, it's game over, generating tension and eliciting the need to really consider your actions.
Dark Forces is even easier to recommend now that there's also a well-received Star Wars Dark Forces Remaster from Nightdive Studios. It updates the 2D cutscenes with cleaner art while also presenting the game in widescreen for the first time. There are also extra features, from behind-the-scenes footage from the original game's development to a playable prototype level only shown previously during the Consumer Electronics Show demo. Alternatively, you can also grab the classic version on GOG and Steam if you prefer the pixels.
10. Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Kyle Katarn returned to the PC in Jedi Outcast, one of the finest Star Wars experiences ever crafted. Treading a similar path to its predecessor, Kyle once again must progress from mercenary to Jedi, having cut ties with the Force after nearly falling to the dark side. Built on the Quake III engine, the shooting is naturally solid, but it's the lightsaber combat that really marks Jedi Knight II as a masterpiece and a great sword game to boot.
Being able to cycle between light, medium, and heavy combat stances offers a depth to lightsaber combat that hadn't been seen before and, to date, has yet to be beaten. However, Jedi Fallen Order's lightsaber combat comes close. Duels feel intense and evoke the same awe that the film's best clashes inspired. If you input the 'saberrealisticcombat' cheat code into the game's console, suddenly, saber swings would slice off limbs and heads, leaving hissing cauterized stumps. Even accidentally walking past people with the blade extended would cut them down.
When combined with Force abilities that feel every bit as powerful as they looked and a path of progression that saw you become ever more competent with your abilities, Jedi Knight 2 is the true, unrivaled Jedi sim.
11. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Space is all black and nothingness. However, you can swoop over one of the galaxy's many scenic planets from an X-Wing cockpit for a more picturesque view. That's precisely where Rogue Squadron takes you: this flight sim takes place firmly within its atmospheric confines. You may have less freedom with your controls than in the X-Wing series, but this doesn't stop Rogue Squadron from being a stellar flyer.
Rogue Squadron is fast and tight, letting you quickly strafe ground targets, riddle them with blaster fire, and engage in violent chase sequences. Your range of vessels is small, but the X-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing, V-Wing, and Snowspeeder have their characteristics, making mission replays vastly different in feel, if not in circumstance.
Rogue Squadron isn't simply a one-and-done, either. The original, unsurprisingly, sold like hot cakes, spawning two sequels that are also must-plays. Rogue Leader is considered by many to be the best of the trio, but the OG holds a special place in our hearts.
12. Star Wars: TIE Fighter
If you'd rather take to the skies on behalf of the dark side of the force, then TIE Fighter is the game for you. Its unfolding narrative is frequently cited as one of the best Star Wars tales around, and that's undoubtedly down to the tone it takes. Rather than cackling like an evil villain, the Imperial forces in TIE Fighter genuinely believe they're fighting an army of terrorists, and playing as a TIE Fighter pilot never feels like being 'the bad guy', but rather an important cog in the machine that will crush a threatening insurgency.
Aside from the great story, TIE Fighter lets you strap into the cockpit of one of sci-fi's greatest ship designs, and operating it feels every bit as cool as you'd expect. You also get to fly under the command of Vader himself, which, let's face it, is in everyone's top five Star Wars fantasies.
While TIE Fighter is incredibly dated at this point, it came out in 1994 after all, it has since been brought up to modern standards thanks to the incredible Total Conversion mod. This isn't just a simple remaster, it's a total overhaul, and we cannot recommend it highly enough if you do hop into the cockpit.
13. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017)
Boasting an original Star Wars story and breathtakingly beautiful multiplayer, Battlefront 2 is the ultimate current-generation big-battle experience. With the majority of the fighting taking place between foot soldiers from the various Star Wars factions, it's always a sight to behold to see one of the many heroes join the fight. Whether you're blasting in as Boba Fett or tearing through the Empire with Luke Skywalker, Battlefront 2 has everything a Star Wars fan could want.
However, it wasn't always sunshine and rainbows, as Kirk McKeand's 2017 Star Wars Battlefront 2 review initially raised concerns about the microtransaction-heavy gameplay loop, docking points for EA's egregious practices. "Normally, my brain blocks out in-game monetisation, letting me enjoy the game for what it is," Kirk writes. "Battlefront II changes that because spenders get a real advantage here. You cannot help but notice it encroaching on everything, plastered all over the game's convoluted, drawn-out progression system."
Thankfully, EA made sweeping changes to the FPS after player backlash, and the game now sits in an excellent state for any Star Wars fan to enjoy. While it's still missing the excellent Galactic Conquest mode from the original Battlefront games, making it an inferior single-player experience overall, its cinematic multiplayer does more than enough to make up for it.
14. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Set five years after the events of Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor shows a much more mature Cal Kestis in his fight against the Empire, seeking out friends old and new to try and tip the balance. The sequel's story is grander, the combat has seen a satisfying evolution, and the world is fascinating. While the launch was marred by technical issues, overall, Survivor is a worthy successor to Fallen Order.
In his Star Wars Jedi Survivor review, Will Nelson says: "Survivor doubles down on Fallen Order, deepening the Jedi power fantasy and expanding on its predecessor in every way, though all its choice and freedom does limit both the story and, surprisingly, the combat."

15. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Few Star Wars games have truly encapsulated the pure power fantasy of the dark side of the force like The Force Unleashed. Its opening section literally has you throw a Jedi around like a kid's plaything as Vader, before discovering a child who, under his tutelage, becomes one of the most powerful force users to ever exist: Galen Marek, AKA, Starkiller. If this isn't a salivating enough setup for you, then we don't know what to say.
Set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, Starkiller is tasked with hunting down various Jedi across the galaxy, dispatching them with brutal efficiency. But The Force Unleashed is so much more than a victory lap for the Sith, as its narrative twists and turns prove to be critical to the formation of the Rebel Alliance. Well, that was the case until the house of mouse de-canonized Starkiller after snapping up Lucasfilm.
Despite this, The Force Unleashed remains one of the greatest Star Wars games out there. Between its ridiculously addictive force mechanics and hack 'n' slash gameplay, and its merciless cinematic sequences, you'll be hard-pressed to find a more exhilarating experience on our list.
16. Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
The prequel trilogy may have been memed to death at this point, but it also spawned some excellent games. We've already highlighted Episode 1 Racer, but if there's one truly era-defining banger, it has to be Revenge of the Sith.
Released in the golden years of the movie-to-game adaptation boom, Revenge of the Sith was developed simultaneously with the film, and the result speaks for itself. Its saber combat is exemplary, choreographed in collaboration with the legendary Nick Gillard, as well as Hayden Christensen himself. Its force abilities are no slouch, either, featuring everything a healthy Jedi-turned-Sith needs to massacre younglings.
Setting out RotS' story across 17 missions, alternating between Anakin and Obi-Wan, the game does an excellent job of recreating the movie's most dramatic moments. It even throws in an alternate ending where Anakin doesn't get turned into hotpot on Mustafar, but we'll let you experience that for yourself. It's pure beat 'em up bliss, which is accentuated in its horde-based co-op mode. If you're truly looking to flex on your friends, though, you can take them on in its versus arenas. RotS may be a relic of a bygone era, but its high production value and excellent execution ensure it holds up well by modern standards.
Upcoming Star Wars games
We're always keeping tabs on upcoming PC games; some imminent, some far, far away from launch. You can always count on some sort of Star Wars project being in the works, and there are a couple of games in particular that have us salivating like a rancor at a buffet. A Knights of the Old Republic remake has been in the works for several years now, and has continued development despite plenty of turbulence. At The Game Awards 2025, Fate of the Old Republic was announced. Led by KOTOR director Casey Hudson, this new ARPG is slated as a spiritual successor to the legendary series.
Until the force awakens once more, you've got 16 remarkable Star Wars games to enjoy on PC. Whether you could recite the Jedi Code backward from inside a Sarlaac or you'd struggle to locate the business end of a bowcaster, we reckon these are the Star Wars games every fan should play.
