Black Desert Online Beta returns on February 18th for four day stretch

The second and final beta test for the upcoming Western version of Black Desert Online, a Korean MMO, is happening on February 18th as part of the lead up to release on March 3rd. There’s a number of adjustments and improvements since last time, and those already sure they want in can now pre-register their character names to make sure they get theirs, so long as they’ve pre-ordered.

The second closed beta test will run from 8:00am UTC / 3am EST on Thursday, February 18th until the same time the following Monday. Here’s what they’ve upgraded or improved since last time:

  • Revamped Karma system, which balances player kills and death penalties
  • Addition of voiceovers and tutorial videos
  • Adjustments to experience gain
  • Maximum player level of 55
  • Improved user interface

Daum Games also promise that “a number of scheduled in-game events will be happening throughout the Beta phase” but haven’t given any details as to exactly what yet. They say they’ll post information on the game’s official forums when the time comes.
