Call it what you will, Dungeons of Dredmor receives a free expansion

dredmor

An expansion pack for Dungeons of Dredmor! That’s free! And it has a funny name too. Dungeons of Dredmor: You Have To Name The Expansion Pack launched today, a tiny Rogue-like voice in the cacophony of belching triple AAA publishers, all greasy-mouthed and hype-fattened from E3. You can download the expansion right now, but what does it add? Stuff!

Good stuff! Steamworks support for a start. The new expansion will let you create, upload, download, browse and share new creatures, skills, items, spells, levels and assorted user-made Dredmor junk. Beyond that, the expansion will come with its own clever brand of “new items, enemies, rooms, skills, and things to generally make your life Better and/or More Full of Death.” It also fixes a whole bunch of bugs and adds some new achievements. It’s available on the Steam store now.

In fact,Dungeons of Dredmor is currentlyon sale atonly a smidge over one pound on Steam, with its Realm of the Diggle Gods DLC costing just another 60p. It’s definitely worth it – I lose more cash than that every time I sit down on a big sofa, arch my legs into the air and kick my feet around excitedly. Which I do as a matter of course when sitting down.
“The only catch?” claim the cheeky developers on their Steam page. “We couldn’t think of a good title, so we left you some work to do before you start playing. That’s right. You Have To Name The Expansion Pack.”
Oh you boys.
