How big is Black Ops 6?

Don't worry about having to clear SSD storage space for the next Call of Duty game, as the Black Ops 6 file size isn't unreasonable.

How big is Call of Duty Black Ops 6

How big is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6? Despite initial rumors that it would take up over 300GB, the actual Black Ops 6 file size thankfully comes in at under half of this size on PC. What’s more, you can save even more space by not installing certain online game modes.

The Black Ops 6 system requirements were revealed prior to the closed beta for PC and detailed the file size alongside the type of storage you will need to get the best out of the game. While recent Call of Duty games have been rather chunky, Black Ops 6 is actually rather moderate with its storage demands compared to many other modern triple-A releases.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 file size

The Black Ops 6 file size on PC will be 149GB. This figure includes Call of Duty HQ and Warzone, which take up approximately 78GB together.

Despite rumors of a file size that would end up being twice that of Baldur’s Gate 3, meaning north of 300GB, the actual Black Ops 6 download size won’t be nearly as bad. You’ll need 149GB of SSD storage available at launch, but that’s only if you’re also downloading CoD HQ and Warzone.

If you already have these installed, the download exclusively for Black Ops 6 will instead be around 71GB. Given that these are the figures given out for the closed and open beta, there is still a chance they could change, but the difference is unlikely to be huge.

In my time testing the game to figure out the best Black Ops 6 settings for PC, it was clear that the game is well optimized, even during the beta phase. Performance on PC is great, and the issues that plagued past releases, such as random crashes at the start of matches and shader compilation failures, are now problems of the past.

The CoD Black Ops 6 release date is almost here, and while you wait you can read about how Corsair just bagged a new multi-year deal to produce official Call of Duty hardware for PC.
