When was the Black Ops 6 Season 5 release date? After an action-packed year, we're finally at the end of what has to be considered the best Call of Duty in a long time.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 introduced a new Zombies map - the last Zombies map before the next Call of Duty. The developers of the multiplayer game intend on finishing strong, with Black Ops 6 Season 5 introducing a whole host of new maps, new modes, and a map-changing Verdansk experience. BO6 Season 5 release date

The Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 5 release date was Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 content

Here's all the content featured in Black Ops Season 5:

WMD, a new map for Black Ops 6 season 5.

New multiplayer maps

Season 5 introduces three new maps: Runway, Exchange, and World Motor Dynasty. Runway takes us to another airport setting, but this one is in ruins after a jet has plowed into the side of the building, and the comms tower is ablaze. Meanwhile, Exchange is a new, mostly symmetrical 6v6 map set in another marketplace.

Perhaps the most interesting addition in Season 5, though, was WMD, or World Motor Dynasty. If the layout or name is pulling at some distant memories, that's because this map is set on the original WMD from Black Ops. The layout is the same, but the look is altogether different, now a luxury car manufacturer in Avalon instead of a chilly Soviet facility.

New Multiplayer modes

At launch, you'll be able to check out the new Aim High mode, which is another mode for showing off your headshot prowess. Getting headshots will land you an instant elim, while damage in other areas is significantly reduced.

If that's not challenging enough for you, Snipers Only returns as part of the mid-season update, as does the Cranked moshpit. If you don't remember this from the TMNT event, kills give you perks and buffs, but also trigger a bomb countdown on your Operator. Keep killing and chain elims to prevent your explosive death.

New Warzone content

Among massive changes to the Verdansk map, a new contract arrived with season 5. By triggering the Satellite Hijack event, you are required to breach the stadium while going head-to-head with other squads. This epic event is only around for a limited time, so make sure you get involved within the first week of the season. After that, lock in for the Stadium Resurgence mode, during which you can finally enter the Stadium POI itself.

New Zombies content

Speaking of new Zombies content, the final Zombies map arrived with Season 5. The new trailer shows the towering, multi-floor building, and some new tech we've not experienced in the story yet, as new portals allow you to hurl yourself between buildings. Meanwhile, Mr Peeks is the start of the season, with a new Field upgrade inspired by the plush.

Get that final push in and level up your favorite Black Ops 6 weapons so you don't get left behind when the next season arrives, especially if you plan to participate in ranked mode once again. See which of the newest weapons have made our best Warzone loadouts list, too.
