The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign definitely outshines the half-cooked effort from last year. Modern Warfare 3 didn't really have a proper single-player mode - it was just Warzone with some objectives and loose narrative strands wrapped around it. But even though it had low expectations to meet, based on responses from CoD players on Steam, Black Ops 6 has outdone itself. Personally, I think the original Modern Warfare from 2007 is far and away the best Call of Duty campaign, closely followed by either Black Ops 3 or Ghosts (yes). But I'm not about to question the enthusiasm and adoration of Ice T, who says that Black Ops 6's single-player missions represent the "best campaign…on any game in a while."
If you're yet to try it out, we've got the full Black Ops 6 campaign mission list so you can get a sense of what you're in for, and how long the latest CoD lasts as compared to its peers. Set during the early '90s, against the backdrop of the Gulf War, Black Ops 6 brings back Woods, Adler, and the cast of Cold War, and combines set-piece stealth missions with some semi-open-world skirmishes. There's character and weapon customization, dozens of collectibles, and even a little metagame hidden in the hub world. Combined with multiplayer and zombies, it makes this year's iteration of the world's most-famous FPS game feel very full indeed.
Over on Steam, the Black Ops 6 campaign has already attracted a lot of praise from players. But now Ice T, the legendary rapper behind 'Original Gangster,' 'I'm Your Pusher,' and 'Ricochet,' has reached the finale and shares his own glowing review.
"Gamer stuff," Ice T writes on X, formerly Twitter. "Black Ops 6. Just finished the campaign. Yep, I took my time. Best campaign I've played on any game in a while. Now I gotta do it on Veteran mode. Then Zombies, then Multiplayer. Black Ops 6 did not disappoint."

This isn't the first time that rap and Activision Blizzard games have come together. Just last year, the official accounts for Diablo 4 and World of Warcraft extended a reply to Snoop Dogg after the artist teased that he was "giving up smoke," as part of a marketing campaign for a smokeless fire pit. Elsewhere in CoD news, the Black Ops Season 1 release date has just been confirmed, while PC players say they are struggling to get the game to run properly owing to technical issues and problems with booting.
