“Ghost confirmed” for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 2

Looks like season 2 is all about Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare is about to enter season 2, and developer Infinity Ward has begun to tease the content you can expect in the new update. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 2 release date is now officially set for February 11, and among other things, it will see the return of Modern Warfare 2’s Ghost for the first time in ages.

The new teaser is pretty vague, but it shows a few quick flashes of imagery related to the season, and at the end we see the words “Ghost confirmed,” followed by a quick shot of the character’s recognisable skull mask. There’s no clear indication of how ghost will return, but it’s likely he’ll join the ranks of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare operators.

The season 2 Ghost tease is joined by hints of a new map, too. A few images in the video suggest that the Rust map will return for the season, as Charlie Intel notes. Rust also hails from Modern Warfare 2, so it looks like the new season might be focused on content from the 2009 classic.

Modern Warfare’s January 28 patch notes include a load of weapon balance tweaks, but we’ll see some much more substantial updates come February 11.
