Cossacks 3 comes stampeding onto PC this September

Cossacks 3

That iconic grand strategy franchise, Cossacks, is returning to PC this September and bringing with it 10,000 unit battles, five historical campaigns and loads of beautiful examples of Eastern European and Russian architecture. Slated to be a reboot rather than a sequel, Cossacks will be available to buy as a physical release or on Steam on the same day: 20 September, 2016.

STALKER developers GSC Game World are in charge of bringing the 2001 original kicking and screaming into our age of selfies and microtransactions. Promising 10,000 on-screen combatants at launch, eight-player multiplayer, 12 nations and 70 different unit types, Cossacks 3 has grand strategy gaming appeal by the bucketload. To see the game in action, check out the below trailer.

The last Cossacks game, Cossacks: The Napoleonic Wars, was released all the way back in 2005, making this return of the franchise 11 years in the making. While we’d love to see a full sequel with some distinct gameplay differences, the hefty graphical update and increased emphasis on multiplayer will go some way to making this feel like a unique release.
