CSGO’s massive ESL One New York tournament this weekend, Nvidia providing 1080s for all tournament PCs

ESL One New York

While not always majors, ESL’s One series of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments are some of the most hotly contested and highly-prized tournaments around. The next is this weekend, featuring the world’s best teams in a long, long format to determine the very best. It’s SK Gaming’s first big tournament since their last Major victory and they’ll be looking to defend their title of best team in the world against the various shuffled teams in attendance – including numbers two and three in the world. The newly bought Team Liquid will be there too. Nvidia are on-hand to provide the computers that will be played on, including a GTX 1080 in each, as well as various events for spectators.

Here’s what’s going to be on offer if you’re in attendance:

  • New York Scavenger Hunt: A golden ticket scavenger hunt across New York City for GPUs and other prizes.
  • You vs. Olofmeister: Play against world champion player Olofmeister to win an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, GeForce GTX 1070, or GeForce GTX 1060!.
  • AWP Vote: Vote for the best AWP player for your chance to win an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070.

These sadly won’t be available if you’re watching on Twitch, though the scavenger hunt probably would have been a bit of a challenge. Nvidia also posted a blog about how they believe supporting professional gaming is a part of their business.

The tournament itself is for $250,000 and you can see the format over on Liquipedia. Also sponsoring are CyberPower and Microsoft, providing Windows 10 for the tournament PCs.
