With The Witcher 3 out in the wild, the next game you can expect to see from CD Projekt Red is Cyberpunk 2077. When we finally discover the release date for it, start cancelling any other plans in the subsequent months, because it’s going to be huge.
“Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before. Far, far bigger.” said visual effects artist Jose Teixeira when talking to MCV.

Working on The Witcher 3 was a big learning curve for the studio, who had previously not produced a true open-world game in the manner of Wild Hunt. “Working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it,” said Teixeira.
Everyone at the studio is proud of their achievements on The Witcher 3, but are looking to go further with different and better ideas for Cyberpunk 2077, he said.
Of course, a project of Cyberpunk’s scale takes time, so don’t expect to be playing next year. Patiently sitting and twiddling your thumbs seems the most reasonable course of action. Your thumbs will probably be bionic replacements by the time the game is out.
