How do you get the Dauntless Skullforge Exotic helmet? This is one of three Exotic helmets in the game, and it earns it’s a superb addition to any hunter’s arsenal, especially if you’re looking to up your tanking abilities. Problem is, The Skullforge is not an easy piece of equipment to acquire. Rather than just waiting for it to drop fully formed from a fight, you need to spend some time farming for a Blueprint. Then, you need to go out again and farm for all the materials needed to create The Skullforge Dauntless Exotic.

As a reward for all of your hard work, this helmet has a pretty impressive ability, allowing you to generate a shield. It turns 1.5% of all damage dealt into a stamina shield. This shield stays active until you either start spending stamina or haven’t dealt damage for five seconds. It makes for an excellent extra layer of defence, and one that will no doubt save your life countless times. The Skullforge also boasts a defensive Dauntless Cells, making it especially handy at keeping you alive.

Stamina is a big deal in Dauntless, especially when it comes to surviving wounding damage from Behemoths. Pair this with Repeaters as this helmet will allow you to keep rolling and sprinting around the battlefield with ease. Here’s what you need to know about getting The Skullforge in Dauntless.

How To Get The Dauntless The Skullforge

As ever, the first thing you need to do is get the Blueprint for The Skullforge. To get this particular Exotic Blueprint you need to be ready to grind Heroic Patrols or prepare to kill the Firebrand Charrogg a lot – either way you need to grind a lot of Dauntless Behemoths. The biggest issue you’re going to face isn’t the monster itself, but the RNG that comes with this kind of game. With a little bit of luck and a lot of elbow grease, you should eventually come into possession of The Skullforge Blueprint.

Now that you know how to build it, you need to actually gather the required materials. These are less about RNG than the Blueprint itself but can still take time to gather. Here is what you need to collect:

  • 75 Rams
  • 2 Charrogg Scale
  • 1 Smoldering Tailspike
  • 6 Neutral Furyplate
  • 3 Neutral Skullgem

The easiest items to get are the Rams, the Scales, and the Tailspike. Rams are the currency in Dauntless, so you should have plenty lying around ready to be used by the time you get the Blueprint. The 2 Charrogg Scale can be gained by killing off the Charrogg itself, so you should have picked them up while getting the Blueprint, and the same is true of the Tailspike.

The tricky items are the last two, the Neutral Furyplate and Neutral Skullgem. The Furyplate is dropped from the broken limbs of a Raging Neutral Behemoth. The Behemoth has to be Threat Level eight or above for this to drop, so don’t go easy on yourself. The Skullgem also has to be obtained in Threat Level eight or above, and you can get one by breaking the head of a Neutral Behemoth within the first two minutes of battle.
