How do you get the Dauntless The Hunger Exotic? A worthy question for a very worthy weapon. This Exotic sword is one of the best Dauntless Exotic weapons in the game, and it can slaughter Behemoths in mere moments when in the hands of a pro hunter.

However, adding this powerful Exotic to your inventory is no mean feat, and you’re going to need to put in a fair chunk of time and get quite lucky when it comes to farming the necessary resources. You first need to get the Dauntless The Hunger Blueprint, then you need to start collecting crafting materials and Rams so you can forge the final piece.

If that sounds like too much effort, then you need to reconsider things. After all, it might take a lot of time to get this Exotic sword in the first place but doing so is going to make your life so much easier going forward. The unique trait of The Hunger is called Feast, which lets you steal health from your enemies and even boosts your attack speed. Not only that, but you actually create damaging waves with each strike making this even better at shredding monsters.

How To Get The Dauntless The Hunger Exotic

To get your hands on The Hunger, you first need to acquire the Blueprint for it. You can do this by completing Heroic Patrols, or by farming the Shrowd Behemoth, which is a terrifying Threat Level 17 Umbral crow monster. As is often the case with this kind of farming exercise, the Blueprint will drop when it wants to drop, you just have to be patient and hope for the best.

Once you’ve got the Blueprint, you’re going to need to craft this magnificent sword. To do so, you need to get your hands on these materials:

  • 150 Rams
  • 3 Shrowd Feather
  • 4 Twisted Shadowspur
  • 6 Elemental Furyplate
  • 3 Elemental Tailgem

As you no doubt already know, Rams are the standard currency in Dauntless, so you should already have a pretty penny saved up anyway. The Shrowd Feather and Twisted Shadowspur are both drops from the Shrowd itself. Depending on how long it took for the Blueprint to drop and how you went about obtaining it, you may already have these in your possession. If not, then go out and hunt some more, and make sure to break the body for the Shrowd Feather and the Legs for the Twisted Shadowspur.

The Elemental Furyplate and the Elemental Tailgem can be harder to get hold of. The Elemental Furyplate can be acquired by destroying the limbs of any Raging Elemental Behemoth of Threat Level eight or higher. Remember, you have to do it when the beast is angry, or you’re not getting the Furyplate. The Elemental Tailgem can be obtained by breaking the tail of an Elemental Behemoth within the first two minutes of combat. It’s a tricky one, but take the right weapon and you’ll be fine.
