From beating the Shrowd hunt to farming materials, here's everything you'll need to do on your way to forging the Tragic Echo

How do you get the Dauntless Tragic Echo Exotic helmet? There are three pieces of Exotic armour in Dauntless, all three of them are helmets, and all three of them take a lot time to get your hands on. Not only do you need to grind to get the materials to build the Tragic Echo, you need to grind to get the Blueprint so you can actually craft the item. It’s a lot of hard work and you’ll need luck on your side as RNG plays a hefty role when it comes to hoovering up Dauntless Exotic Blueprints.

You’re going to want to get on that grind though, because Tragic Echo is an incredible piece of equipment. It has the unique ability that turns you into a shadow clone when you die for the first time. This effect lasts for 15 seconds, lets you attack uninterrupted, and improves your damage by 100%, allowing you to dish out huge damage in a short burst before returning to the downed state. Plus, it’s an Umbral helmet, which gives you that extra bit of protection against the dark Behemoths that roam the world of Dauntless.

Best of all, the shadow clone state pairs with a number of low-health Dauntless Cells like Rage and Wild Frenzy, so if you get your build right you can make dying a part of your game.

How To Get The Dauntless Tragic Echo Exotic

Now then, to be able to craft the Tragic Echo, you need to get lucky enough for the Tragic Echo Blueprint to drop. The Blueprint can be obtained by doing Heroic Patrols, or by farming the Shrowd Behemoth. This is a tough fight, and the crow-like monster is a nasty opponent, but it’s worth it to get this item. The worst part of this process is that it’s all luck, so you might get the Blueprint on your first attempt, or you might get it on your hundredth.

Once you have the Blueprint, you need to collect these materials:

  • 75 Rams
  • 2 Shrowd Feather
  • 1 Darkbeak Fragment
  • 5 Neutral Clawgem
  • 1 Neutral Furytail

The first three items are nice and easy to get. Rams are just the Dauntless currency, as you probably know, that means you should have plenty of them lying around, just waiting to be spent on a worthy cause. The Shrowd Feather and Darkbeak Fragment can both be obtained by hunting the Shrowd, so you should have these after grinding for the Blueprint.

To get the Neutral Clawgem, you need to break the limbs of a Neutral Behemoth within two minutes of the combat starting. This is no small order, but if you take the right weapons and team then you should be able to manage it. The Neutral Furytail requires you to break the tail of a Raging Neutral Behemoth. Both of these items require you to be doing Threat Level eight or higher missions. There is a bit of luck involved here too but persevere and you’ll be able to craft the Tragic Echo.
