Dead by Daylight system requirements

This long-running asymmetrical horror game is closing in on a decade of activity, but the PC system requirements are still scarily low.

Dead By Daylight system requirements

The Dead By Daylight system requirements haven't changed too much over the last nine years, but upcoming quality of life changes could see this updated. The move to Unreal Engine 5 may also result in some performance downgrades for those playing on low-spec hardware, but this isn't expected to be addressed until next year.

You've never needed any of the best GPU picks from our extensive buying guide to run Dead By Daylight, as the system requirements only demand hardware about as old as the game itself. However, as is the case in any game, the better your gaming PC, the further you can push it to achieve improved in-game performance.

Here are the Dead By Daylight PC system requirements in for PC:

Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10 or later Windows 10 or later
CPU Intel Core i3 4170
AMD FX 8120
Intel Core i3 4170
AMD FX 8300
GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
AMD HD 6850
Nvidia GeForce 760
AMD HD 8800
VRAM 1GB 4GB
RAM 8GB 8GB
Storage 50GB 50GB

The Dead by Daylight minimum requirements contain components that most younger PC gamers might never even have heard of. You'll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 or AMD HD 6850 graphics card alongside an Intel Core i3 4170 to AMD FX 8120 CPU.

As for the Dead by Daylight recommended specs, these don't particularly take much of a jump up, with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD HD 8800 GPU being needed alongside the same Intel Core i3 4170 or an AMD FX 8300.

There is no mention of Radeon, Ryzen, or RTX to be seen, although gaming hardware bearing these more modern naming conventions will surely have no issue running Dead By Daylight.

For memory, 8GB of RAM is all you need across all system requirements tiers, and the Dead by Daylight download size comes in at just 50GB with nowhere does it state you'll need the best SSD, or any SSD for that matter, although I strongly recommend one regardless, as it will provide a small boost your in-game performance and shorten your loading times.
