Welcome to Deadlock Info where we’re building a comprehensive Deadlock database to gather everything you need to make the best hero builds, push the right lanes, make the right calls, and be crowned champion of Deadlock.
We’re also covering everything from the official release date, trailers, news, updates, to strategy guides on hero selection.
What is the Deadlock release date?
While you can absolutely play the game right now as part of the official Deadlock playtest, the full Deadlock release date is expected to be set for late 2025, though the developer has yet to announce a launch window.
How to play Deadlock
Looking for an invite code? Sadly, unless you’re one of the lucky few to be invited by Valve directly, your only ticket into Deadlock is through an invitation from a friend. A very simple solution to this is to head to the Deadlock Reddit page where the megathread of invites is available. You will have to add a stranger as a friend in order to get the invite, but you can unfriend them as soon as you’re in the game.
Note: Do not accept requests for money or offer to pay for access to the Deadlock playtest.
Can I run Deadlock?
That’s easy! Check your computer or laptop against the Deadlock system requirements online using this free, safe, and easy-to-use tool to answer the question: can I run Deadlock?
Deadlock map
At present, there is only one playable map in the Deadlock playtest (unless you count the much reduced map offered in the tutorial section). This map is divided into four lanes which can be quickly traversed using dedicated skylines to get you from home base to the frontlines in seconds.
Between each lane is what’s commonly referred to as the “jungle.” Within the jungle, you’ll find boxes, crates, and pots which, when smashed, have a chance to drop numerous permanent boosts or currency. You can also find neutral mobs which will grant “souls” upon being defeated, as well as a Middle-Boss in the center of the map which drops a major team-wide boost upon defeat.
Deadlock gameplay
Deadlock is a 6 vs 6 hero shooter set across a large map with four distinct lanes guarded by three different barriers. Past the final barriers on either side are the team’s patron who serves as the final tower that, when destroyed, will end the game.
Players will generally start each game by selecting a lane, defeating minions to soak “souls” (basically experience or currency) and use those souls to purchase upgrades for their character. As the game progresses, players will be able to unlock and upgrade their hero’s various abilities which will help with pushing a lane to one side of the map.
