CGI is hard. All that rendering is a big job. Game engines offer an alternative to Hollywood – real-time rendering production of animation on-the-fly. But it’s always been a bit of a what-if – what-if Hollywood discovered just what game engines can do – what if we could directly take the sets from a Hollywood production and turn them immediately into a game?
Well, it looks like the what if has become a reality with “Deep”, a film produced in the Source Engine, and directed by Shane Acker, the director of 9.
Very pretty. Do want.
