Glitched to get Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Apex Predator? You get to keep it

Destiny 2: Forsaken's raid loot glitch has been fixed, but not before everyone got a whole bunch of cool gear

Destiny 2: Forsaken’s raid isn’t out yet, but that hasn’t stopped a handful of industrious players from claiming its rewards. In fact, a select few have even managed to collect the entire raid set well before launch, and though Bungie has now apparently plugged the leak, it looks like all that gear will continue to be in play until The Last Wish goes live.

Basically, it’s a matter of glitching through the environment and doing some absurd platforming around unfinished pieces of the raid environment to eventually make your way back in to the playable area. There are plenty of YouTube tutorials on how to do it, including one that you can see embedded below.

Bungie says the affected Raid Chests have now been “suppressed until we can properly isolate them to Raid activities. None of the rewards they have granted will be rescinded.” If you’re miffed that players who haven’t completed the raid are getting ultra-powerful gear, you shouldn’t be – it appears these rewards weren’t dropping at the proper level. So yeah, some people have the cool stuff early, but they won’t be wrecking you with it just yet.

The glitch first came to prominence on Reddit, and further follow-ups brought even more layers to it. A particular method with a new character allowed folks to reset the chest and claim its rewards over and over, eventually claiming the full set.

This does mean we’re getting an early preview of all that gear, including the Chattering Bone pulse rifle, Nation of Beasts hand cannon, and Apex Predator rocket launcher. The latter you can see above (thanks, r/DestinyFasion), and you can get a few more early images here to whet your loot lusting appetite.
