How do you unlock the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes armor set? As we’ve come to expect from Bungie, this armor set has all the flash and awe of the game’s best gear sets. On top of looking cool, though, you’ll also want to pick this up as the armor will be updated when the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep release date rolls around – as that’s when the Destiny 2 armor 2.0 revamp kicks in.

Bungie’s Solstice of Heroes event is how the developer rounds off the year. Challenges typically revolve around what happened in the year prior, with the armor set a cherry on top for those of us in for the grind. The set-up is relatively simple, you receive the Solstice armor in its base form, and complete challenges on each armor piece to level it up. Once the challenge is complete, you go to the tower and meditate to get a higher-level piece of gear.

So, for this guide, we’ll tell you how to get the Destiny 2 Solstice armor set, and then how you can power it up to its renewed and masterwork state. To that end, here’s how to unlock and upgrade Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes armor.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Hunter, Warlock, or a Titan for this first part. All you have to do to get your drained armor set is go and talk to Eva Levante in the Tower. Unless she’s been given a new place to dwell, you can find her standing close to Ikora.

To power up your newly-acquired gear, you’ll need to complete the following challenges. The European Aerial Zone may appear a tad unfamiliar, but, according to the leak, it’ll be a new area within the EDZ that will work like a six-person match-made event, like the Menagerie.

TITAN

  • Open chests in the European Aerial Zone, finish Solstice of Heroes bounties, and defeat enemies in the European Aerial Zone while an arc subclass is equipped

  • Complete public events on Nessus, collect void orbs in the Crucible or Gambit, and unlock solstice packages
  • Complete playlist strikes, collect elemental orbs of any type in any activity, and complete Crucible or Gambit matches

  • Open chests in the European Aerial Zone, collect elemental orbs (can be any type, in any activity), and defeat enemies in the European Aerial Zone with a solar subclass equipped
  • Take part in public events on Nessus, complete Solstice of Heroes bounties, and defeat enemy players in the Crucible or Gambit
  • Finish adventures, collect arc orbs in any strike, and then complete a set amount of Crucible or Gambit matches

How to upgrade Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes masterwork armor

Once you’ve completed the relevant challenges from above, you can move on to upgrading your armor to its masterwork form. This works as it did before, but with new challenges that are the same across the board for hunters, warlocks, and titans – so we won’t list them more than once.

TITAN, HUNTER, AND WARLOCK

  • Finish a Prestige Nightfall with a score of 200,000 or more
  • Complete playlist strikes with clanmates
  • Complete the Shattered Throne dungeon in the Dreaming City with a maximum fireteam of two players
  • Reset your Season 7 Valor ranking in the Crucible
  • Defeat challenging combatants throughout the system

And there you have it, how to unlock the Solstice of Heroes armor set for hunters, warlocks, and titans. As we’ve said before, this is all based on leaks, so it could very well be a different set of challenges that launch with the event, which is what happened with the Destiny 2 Lumina Exotic quest.

If that happens we’ll be on hand to update this guide when the event goes live, and we have the Solstice armor in our possession. Now that’s all wrapped up; we wish you good luck in your grind: it’s goin’ get regal.
