Diablo 3 sales reach 15 million across all platforms, which is quite a lot of loot

Diablo 3 sales reach 15 million

Things are looking pretty good over at Blizzard right now. They had a great BlizzCon last year, got everyone addicted to Hearthstone before it’s even released, World of Warcraft subs are up and now Diablo sales have hit 15 million.

The figure comes from Activision Blizzard’s latest financial report and takes into account sales across all platforms. Bobby Kotick’s obviously pretty optimistic about the success of the upcoming expansion, Reaper of Souls.

Diablo 3 had a few bumps in the road, most notably the Auction House, which didn’t go down well. Blizzard’s shutting down the Auction House this year, however, and has been churning out patches since the game launched.

Our Nick’s been playing a ridiculous amount of the expansion, and wrote up a massive analysis of it just for you in December. He had some criticisms, but was impressed regardless. “Reaper of Souls is excellent. While I haven’t touched the new story, the other additions have kept me entertained indefinitely.”

This year’s going to be a big one for Blizzard. Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone and Reaper of Souls are all due out this year along with the next WoW expansion, Warlords of Draenor.

Cheers, Eurogamer.
