Latest Diablo 3 1.05 patch doubles the drop rate of Legendary loot

diablo3magicfind2

A tiny, unassuming, single bullet point in the notes for Diablo 3’s patch 1.0.5 — which is currently available to preview on the game’s Public Test Realm — declares that drop rates for Legendary items have been doubled. This follows changes made to Legendary items last month, in patch 1.0.4, that greatly increased their usefulness and power. Doubling the drop rate is an unexpected and welcome change, given that Blizzard usually tweak those numbers with scalpel-precision, bumping and adjusting drop rates by fractions of a percent. Come 1.0.5’s release you can expect more junk in your trunk, and more loot in your boot.

Other changes mentioned in the patch 1.0.5 notesinclude several tweaks to each of theclasses, some ofwhich appear to be enraging Wizards across the internet. Here is abrief glimpse into the inter-class bickering that surrounds these patch notes on the official Diablo blog:

“We have gathered here today to say goodby to all wizards,” writes a forlorn Darkrox.”It has been a fun ride, but now it’s time for them to go. A superior godly race of divine superbeasts called Barbarians now rules the earth, leaving no place for the wizards. R.I.P. former wizard friends.”

“Shut the hell up kid, unless you’ve played a barb on PTR don’t open you’re scrub sht mouth,” retorts an indignantImortalJones.

Quite! You’ve got to wonder if this ramping up of loot-spillage is in response to the veritable fountains of exciting loot sloshing about in Torchlight 2 and Borderlands 2, and how the increased number of Legendaries entering the Diablo 3economy will affect the Auction House.Patch 1.0.5 is currently still in its testing phase and is without a release date. You can read the fullprovisional patch notes on the blog.
