Doom co-creators Adrian Carmack and John Romero have just released one of the strangest, nerdiest promo videos for a game ever.

Warm up for more Romero shooting in our list of the best FPS games on PC.

The video begins with Carmack stood in a field looking sullen, until he walks up to Romero stood atop a verge, back turned and hood up – he’s Luke Skywalker, for some reason.

Romero then turns and pulls down his hood, revealing that he’s wearing a solitary glove in the place of a robot limb. Carmack, in the place of [Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens spoiler] passes him a keyboard, and that’s it. Like I said, it’s strange.

What’s even stranger is, it’s highly unlikely their upcoming game is going to have anything to do with Star Wars. I mean, surely not? Not that I wouldn’t be open to playing a Romero and Carmack FPS set in the Star Wars universe, obviously.

Anyway, while it’s weird, the video does have a point – there’s going to be an announcement on April 25. Yes, it’s one of those announcements of announcements. I swear I’m going to find out who started all this and have a stern word with their mum.
