Door Kickers 2 announced in Steam page tease, will be bigger, better, kickier

Top-down violent entry simulator Door Kickers barged its way onto Early Access a few years back, before releasing out of the program to much success and good reviews. Now the strategy game about entering buildings at rapid velocity and apprehending those inside is to get a sequel, though details are light on the ground. It will have a 3D engine but retain the 2D perspective, and, apparently, “change everything.”

No matter your preference in scale or setting, we’ve got a strategy game for you to play.

There’s not a ton of information about it yet, but developers KillHouse Games (sometimes you just have to be literal with your studio name) let slip some key tidbits in their 2015 round-up post on Steam. Along with celebrating what was a great year for the team and game, launching on a swathe of mobile devices, translating to various languages and managing to get mod support on phones, they have this to say about the sequel:

“The future is Door Kickers 2 … and more. DK2 brings the step to 3D: environments, characters – but keeps the clear and easy-to-use top down perspective and hardcore, unforgiving action. It keeps the real life action but moves it to a new and exciting setting. And it changes … everything.”

If that all seems a bit non-specific, it’s deliberate. There’ll be a lot more on Door Kickers 2 come Sunday, January 17th, the third anniversary of the first game being revealed to the public. Expect screenshots, a trailer or at least lots more info then.
