Dota 2’s post-International roster shuffle ends with surprisingly little drama

Dota 2

Valve’s official window for professional Dota 2 teams to register their rosters has now closed, only to be opened after the next Major tournament, and everything seems to have gone well.

To see who the best in the pack are, check out the top players in Dota 2.

The roster shuffle period closed this morning, at midnight PDT, with the last notable names being added to theirteam rostersa full hour before the window closed – a far cry from the summer’s window which saw teams dissolving within 48 hours of the cutoff.

There are still a few big names missing from team sheets, however, as former TI-winning Alliance star Akke and fellow Swedes Pajkatt and Chessie are still free agents in the European region. Other players, such as Alliance’s AdmiralBulldog and Ukrainian carry XBOCT have elected to take sabbaticals from playing pro Dota.

America’s shuffle concluded with the re-establishing of the Evil Geniuses team after Fear’s retirement earlier in the week, with Suma1l, Universe and Zai returning to the squad and now featuring OG’s cr1t and, for the third time, Arteezy after his last flip-flop back from Team Secret.

The rosters are now locked until after the Fall Major, which has yet to be announced, and this year’s cycle of tournaments will now only feature two Majors as opposed to three, plus of course The International next August.
