The Red Bull Battle Grounds Dota 2 China qualifier kicks off tonight; LGD vs IG rematch confirmed

Red Bull Battle Ground Dota 2 China

The China qualifier of the Dota 2 Red Bull Battle Grounds is about to kick off later tonight. Four of China’s most prestigious teams will compete: LGD, Invictus Gaming, EHOME and Newbee – the latter still enjoying the fame of winning Valve’s Dota 2 International last year. The four will fight it out to see who gets to join other regional champions from Southeast Asia, North America, Russia and Europe in the playoffs in early May.

And with each tournament which marks the fast approaching return of the next Dota 2 International, all eyes are on the teams to see who’s favoured to win.

Last year, at Valve’s Dota 2 International 2014, Chinese team Newbee took the biggest eSports prize pool in history. Other great chinese teams such as LGD and IG made it into the top 8; LGD actually eliminated IG from the tournament.

Those two teams are destined for a rematch tonight in the Red Bull Battle Grounds, and judging by both teams recent performance, it’s going to be a nailbiter. Tune into the stream below at 11pm PDT for the kick off:
