Alliance have won the Dreamhack Summer Dota 2 tournament in a tantalising final against Quantic. The best of three game looked like it could’ve gone either way as it went into the final game. Alliance displayed utter dominance in the first game, only for Quantic to return the favour in game two. Game three was the decider.
Then Alliance went 22-0 in under twenty minutes. GG.
Game one started out with a convincing win from Alliance, which were the favourites to win the tournament. Quantic focused on an aggressive strategy, only to be repeatedly punished by Alliance. Loda and Bulldog farmed ahead to the point they just refused to die in any teamfight, only giving up one death each at the end. After half an hour in Quantic were forced to give up and call the “GG”.
Game two was another story entirely. A Lich pick by Quantic did wonders to shut down Alliances Gyrocopters farm. Once Silent had a considerable lead in gold and experience on Weaver, things started getting crazy. In combination with Treants Living Armour he was nigh unstoppable, diving towers left and right to secure those precious kills. This led to a snowball in power, resulting in a Rampage from Silent effectively ending the game for Alliance.
Game three was one of the most one sided games of Dota I have ever witnessed. Quantic tried a daring first blood attempt right off the bat but couldn’t nail it. Alliance retaliated with force, scoring first blood and then some. With six kills in six minutes Alliance turned to five man Dota, roaming around the map looking for kills and/or towers. Time and time again Quantic tried to push them back but instead gave them more kills. As the push came to Quantics bottom tier three tower, Alliance were already 10k ahead by gold. The last teamfight of the tournament followed, but it was too late for Quantic. Alliance accepted the “gg” with 22 kills and zero deaths. A perfect game.

In a post match interview with Alliance captain Loda, the team set the sights on The International. “We actually didn’t think we could win after day one, but here we are” said Loda. “As a team we aim to be in the top three at The International, but we will always try our best”.
