Dr Disrespect has a memoir on the way

'Violence. Speed. Momentum. A Memoir' is the title of a forthcoming book by Guy 'Dr DisRespect' Beahm

What’s next after a wildly successful career as a videogames streamer? Why, the world of letters, of course – or at least that’s the plan for Guy ‘Dr DisRespect’ Beahm, who is in the process of penning an in-character memoir as the self-styled “greatest gamer in the universe.”

As our sister site The Loadout reports, Beahm is currently writing a book called ‘Violence. Speed. Momentum. A Memoir,’ which will be published by Simon & Schuster’s imprint Gallery Books and released in early 2021.

The Doc’s memoir will also be available in audiobook format, published by Simon & Schuster Audio and performed by (who else?) the author. The Loadout writes that the memoir is similar to that of Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy character from Anchorman – which makes it a ‘memoir-style’ book about a fictional character. “Expect the same tongue-in-cheek humour and brash comments that Dr DisRespect is associated with,” the Loadout advises.

Beahm is doing a bit of a media blitz with the Dr DisRespect persona: in December, he announced he was in talks to create a Dr DisRespect TV show, and he’s still active on Twitch even after a temporary ban resulting from when he decided to live-stream from a public restroom at E3.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the memoir includes accounts of more embarrassing incidents such as this. The book is scheduled for a release in Spring 2021.
