The producer of Dragon Ball FighterZ will compete at Evo

Given the game’s early success  and the Arc System Works pedigree, it’s no surprise to see Dragon Ball FighterZ make the cut at Evo. What is surprising, however, is learning one of the people who worked on the game will be competing at the event.

Dragon Ball FighterZ producer Tomoko Hiroki will compete in the game’s tournament at Evo. The announcement comes via the Bandai Namco YouTube channel, where Hiroki warns prospective entrants to “Practice a lot!”

Realistically, by the time Evo is here eight months after DBFZ’s release, community members and pro players alike will have gotten much better at the game than its creators, though some fighting fanatics wonder what will happen if Hiroki manages to make it to the later stages of the tournament. Either way, it’ll be an opportunity for the Dragon Ball faithful to play against someone who helped bring the game to life.

Evo 2018 will feature two other Arc System Works titles, in addition to multiple Smash entries, Injustice 2, Tekken 7, and Street Fighter V. Notable for its absence, however, is Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
