EA Origin and the Oculus Store are getting in on the hot Summer Sale action

Oculus Rift

Not to be outdone by Steam – though they probably will be by quite a margin – both Oculus and EA have jumped on the Summer Sale wagon and are gunning for your wallets.

If discounts aren’t enough, check out our list of the best free PC games.

What are you, some kind of videogame-deal-buying hipster? Everyone else is spunking their cash on Valve’s digital distribution platform right now and you’re over here asking for more like a privileged Oliver Twist.

That’s obviously because you’re a clever person who realises variety is the spice of life, competition is healthy and all those other cliches that are actually true.

Sometimes it’s a good idea to shop around. I went to the coast recently and I bought a bunch of socks from a market stall: three pairs for £5. Three stalls down there was a dude doing five for a £5. I’m still not over it, to tell you the truth.

Anyway, Oculus are having a sale on the Oculus Store. If you’ve got one of those headclamps you can get discounts on the brilliant Elite: Dangerous, Project Cars, Adr1ft, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, and a bunch of VR games I’ve never heard of. It’s worth checking out.

Over on EA Origin, they’re doing the same. Plants vs Zombie: Garden Warfare 2, The Sims 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Witcher 3 and loads more all have pretty hefty discounts.

Shop around a bit, eh? You might get two extra pairs of socks.
