Skyrim: Dawnguard PC info coming later this week, says Bethesda VP Pete Hines

Skyrim

You’ve most likely noticed that Dawnguard, Skyrim’s first DLC release, isn’t yet available on PC. For that you have Microsoft to thank, who persuaded Bethesda to sign a poxy 30-day exclusivity deal for the game’s first two DLC packs, in apparent forgetfulness that Windows is a platform of theirs too. But hush: I hear a PR rumbling in the deep.

“Nothing has been said/announced about it,” said Bethesda PR man Pete Hines via Twitter this morning. “We should have info later this week.”

Using all of my fingers and toes, as well as those of my friends and close relatives, I’ve worked out that Dawnguard’s exclusivity deal ran its course last Thursday. Do I hear the pre-echo of a release date announcement?

Perhaps it’s just the rustle of wriggling toes. If so, we can do without. Last month our Phill wondered aloud what Dawnguard can offer that mods can’t already, and I’m inclined to agree that it’ll take more than a smattering of new quests to outclass the wealth of quality content already available for free.
