4X fantasy Endless Legend picks up its first expansion pack today in the form of Guardians. It adds a set of new Guardian units to the game: huge, awe-inspiring, elemental-themed giants that are incredibly powerful and are destined to turn the tide of your battles.
They’re not the only addition, though. Striding in with them are a variety of new buildings, missions, and events, all designed to shake up Endless Legend’s status quo.
Guardians adds five of the new titular units. These gigantic elemental Guardians are powerful late-game units, and any faction can build them and use their unique abilities to their full destructive effect. Legendary Deeds join them, and are unique in-game achievements encountered throughout the Eras that will unlock new technologies, items or city improvements. Legendary Buildings can only constructed by one player per Era, and are unlockable by achieving Legendary Deeds. They are so powerful they are visible on the map. Unique Buildings provide benefits and allow players to specialize their cities depending on their surroundings.
Cooperative and competitive quests have been added in which players players will either need to work together or compete to obtain a reward. And new global events have been added where players will need to make the most of unexpected events that will occur and affect the whole planet.
