Tom Clancy’s EndWar Online enters closed beta, introduces new units and PvE mode

Endwar

Look, I know I said I was done with the gratuitous use of Tom Clancy’s name, but something’s come up. Having graduated beyond its alpha phase, Ubisoft’s strategy reboot EndWar Online now enters a period of closed beta testing.

Beta 0.6.1 runs through until November, and introduces two new commanders for each side. There’s also a new PvE mode called Special Operations and support for more than one character per account. Ubi’s EndWar Online blog has a full breakdown of available in-game rewards, too.

EndWar’s original RTS mechanics have been reshaped into a browser-based tower defence affair for EndWar Online, with both players building up their defenses while also selecting which unit types to send in waves to attack their foe.

Ubisoft will be inviting more players into the closed beta from now until November. If you fancy taking part, sign up over at the official EndWar Online website.
