Bethesda honours a fan who passed away by making this NPC in Fallout 4’s Nuka World DLC

Evan NPC Fallout 4

It’s rare when wandering around in Fallout 4’s Commonwealth that you’ll come across a kind face. Nuka World NPC Evan is a rare exception, and there’s a lovely reason for that – Evan is tribute to the late brother of a Fallout 4 fan. You can find Evan at his home in the southern end of the map, where he’ll be admiring the view and warmly greeting any players that cross his path.

Redditor NoohjXLVII has posted a number of times about the various ways in which Fallout 4 has helped him deal with the death of his father, and more recently, younger brother. Bethesda then got in contact with NoohjXLVII to tell him that they had included a tribute to Evan in their most recent expansion, Nuka World. “Hey guys, it’s me again. I’m the one who posted that depressing post a couple months back, Bethesda responded to that post by turning my brother into a character that you can find in Nuka World,” wrote NoohjXLVII on September 1.

Speak to Evan and he will gift the player a unique Nuka-Love recipe, allowing you to craft one of the DLC’s 15 different Nuka-Cola types. It’s not often you get something for free in a Fallout game. See what it’s like to meet Evan in-game below.

NoohjXLVII also commented on the differences between his brother and the NPC. “They made him too skinny, he should be as big as McDonough. If they also gave the character black frame glasses, it’d be spot on. However they caught his essence pretty decently. The words they use sound exactly like him, however he was also a pretty funny guy, full of puns. Thank you again Bethesda, I am forever in your Debt. P.S. Don’t feel guilty about taking his stuff! He insists you take it and in real life he would give you the shirt off of his back to help those in need.”
